What Cool Energy needed
In 2018, Cool Energy acquired a three-storey commercial property on Cleethorpe Road, Grimsby, which was in need of substantial refurbishment. It was always a part of the business plan to have a dedicated property, where customer service and sales, warehousing, and training could take place under one roof, and so John and Chris enquired with E-Factor about funding opportunities that would enable the next phase of the company’s growth.
How E-Factor helped
Tim Maddinson, E-Factor Business Growth Hub Advisor, recommended the Growing the Humber grant and explained the process required for an application. Together, E-Factor and Cool Energy created business plans and forecasts to be submitted alongside the completed application. A total of £38,500 was awarded, which was used towards the refurbishment of the building, from new flooring and lighting to security and signage.
Once completed, Cool Energy will have a completely renovated property with three-storeys of storage and warehousing, office space, training facilities, and a showroom. Already, the business has relocated to its new home and is exceeding projections. John said: “Moving into this property has enabled us to advance our plans much more quickly.
The business is growing and we’re increasing capacity. Sales are already double what we projected. “We’d like to give our utmost thanks to Tim and E-Factor Business. The funding has helped the business to progress as planned, and their input has been invaluable. They are more than able to steer you in the right direction.”
