Dr. Sally Moorcroft and Helen Quirke, the sisters who established the integrative health centre Orchard Barn, have been sharing their expertise with the Lincolnshire community to provide holistic and medical support throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

Orchard Barn has launched a brand new video, podcast and blog channel ‘Health Matters’, where Dr. Sally explores a number of health and wellbeing topics through talks and interviews with leading local and national health professionals.

Helen said: “Essentially we felt that as an Integrative Health Centre with an award winning Integrative Doctor, Dr. Sally Moorcroft with 15 years of experience as the clinical lead, we were in a very strong position to provide help and support to the local community. We have gathered together all the information from our internal practitioners and other external contacts which we felt would be useful for people regarding supporting your immune system and your overall health, along with support for mental health including guided meditations and a hub of recipes for healthy foods.”

Something that is of great importance to Helen and Dr. Sally, following their family’s own experience of having a loved one in a residential care home during this time, is ensuring that the frontline care workers who are working selflessly to care for vulnerable people, are appreciated and able to practice their own self-care.

In #GiftaSocialCarer, Orchard Barn are donating hampers of relaxing and nourishing products to carers in the local area, someone who works in a care home, is a community carer, or a volunteer caring for local community. This follows Dr Sally’s existing work alongside some of her medic colleagues to launch a national social enterprise that will provide support and signposting resources to professional medical staff, ensuring they are supported and cared for while they do the same for us.
